We have 4 cottages at our beautiful small country estate just 2 miles from Keswick with views of helvellyn and blencathra. three cottages in our converted 18thC barn for 2 and 4.
Beautiful barn converted cottages set in grounds including woodland and our meadow, which we are re-wilding with a new pond and 3500 young native trees, designed to encourage wildlife, including badgers, foxes, red squirrels and many song birds. Ball play paddock, walking form the door, pet friendly cottages converted from our 19th century bank barn. (A bank barn is a traditional style built into the fell side to allow level access to the upper story)

4 miles south of Keswick. Take the B5289 to Borrowdale. On your way down you will pass the banks of Derwentwater on your right. You will pass 3 hotels with bars and good restaurants, The Mary Mount Hotel (0.8 miles away), The Lodore Spa Hotel (0.6 miles away) and The Borrowdale Hotel (0.2 miles away). We are the 2nd left after the Borrowdale Hotel. If you get as far as Leathes Cottage, you have gone too far!

Although we are out of town, there are 5 bars and restaurants within 1 mile, the nearest is the Borrowdale Hotel.
We have plenty of great walks from the door. There is a regular bus service into Keswick up to Seatoller, running every 30 minutes during the spring - autumn, and hourly in winter. Also the bus from Grange can take you up over Honister Pass to Buttermere and Crummock Water, making lots of the North Lakes accessible without a car or the hassle of parking. As one of our guests said in their review, “Smack bang in the middle of the good stuff!"

The apartment is accessed via its own private entrance at the back of Chaucer House. It has a hallway and cloak area and steps down into a spacious apartment with views of Latrigg and beyond from the lounge/diner window.

Derwent Cottage is a dog friendly 2 bedroom cottage in the heart of keswick, with parking.
Derwent Cottage is a contemporary town house within a quiet, residential courtyard a couple of minutes walk from the shopping area and within easy walking distance of Derwentwater, Theatre by the Lake and the fells beyond. The stylish, fresh interior and central location provide an excellent base for your holiday.
The front door leads into a bright hallway with coat hooks, a shoe storage area and stairs up to the bedrooms. The kitchen is light and airy and has a good range of well-equipped units , kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery. Appliances include a refrigerator/freezer, washing machine/tumble drier, dishwasher, microwave, gas oven and hob, extractor hood and slow cooker.
The lounge/diner has a contemporary feel, with new sofa and two armchairs, a round glass dining table and four chairs. There is a wall mounted Smart TV, DAB radio with Bluetooth facility and full wi-fi access. Patio doors look out over a small lawned area and communal open gardens around Elm Court. There is a patio table and chairs for guests use. The grounds are often visited by the local ducks and pheasants from the nearby river bank.
The bathroom has a bath with electric shower over, toilet, hand basin, heated towel rail, new laminate flooring.
Bedrooms consist of one dual aspect master bedroom with super king size bed. The views stretch over the River Greta and beyond to Portinscale and Skiddaw. There is a lovely oak wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside Units. The twin bedroom has a built in wardrobe and small vanity unit. Luggage stands are available in both bedrooms. All beds have duvets and towels are provided, along with a hair dryer.
