Our former 19th-century coach house and walled garden have been beautifully transformed into 5-star luxury apartments, with one, two, and three-bedroom apartments Each apartment hosts its own individual character with every small detail carefully crafted to offer views which are simply one of a kind.

At Underscar, our luxury range of apartments caters for all requirements with some sleeping from just two up to the largest sleeping six.  

With the majority configured with bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs and spacious accommodation upstairs, the private balconies showcase the best panoramic views. 

Each large double bedroom has exquisite ensuite bathrooms and an additional family bathroom with a combined walk-in shower and steam room featuring underfloor heating.  

With WiFi is available in all apartments you can use your own devices to access music from streaming services, on the device itself, or to listen to it on the SONOS system installed in every unit. The Smart tv and Apple TV box in the living room complete your experience as a home away from home. 

Nothing has been overlooked in the attention to quality and detail. 

1-bedroom apartments at Underscar 
The four one-bedroom apartments offer different experiences. Two have private balconies and the other two offer outside patio areas with views over Derwentwater. 

Each has a double bedroom with a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom. There is an additional separate bathroom with combined walk-in shower and steam room featuring underfloor heating. 

The kitchens, with adjacent dining and comfortable lounge areas, are fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, glasses and cooking utensils to cater for four people. 

2 Bed Apartments 
There are 18 two-bedroom apartments at Underscar, three of which are in the Coach House, twelve set around the Courtyard gardens and the remaining three are at the front of the complex looking onto Keswick, Derwent Water and beyond.  

Each has a double bedroom with king size bed and ensuite bathroom along with twin-bedded second bedroom. There is also a separate bathroom with combined walk-in shower and steam room featuring underfloor heating. 

The kitchens are fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, glasses and cooking utensils to cater easily for up to six people as does the seating in the adjacent dining area. The spacious lounges have seating for a full complement of six if required. 

3 Bedroom apartments 
Grisedale, Skiddaw and Castlerigg are the three-bedroom apartments at Underscar situated around the Courtyard gardens. Each has a double bedroom with king size bed and ensuite bathroom, two twin-bedded rooms and a separate bathroom with combined walk-in shower and steam room both featuring underfloor heating. 

The kitchens are fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, glasses and cooking utensils to cater for up to eight with equal seating numbers in the adjacent dining areas. The spacious lounges have seating for a full complement of eight if required 

The lounge, kitchen and dining spaces are on the first floor for panoramic views to be enjoyed, with the bedrooms, bathroom and steam room located on the lower floor. 

Location

From M6: Exit junction 40 and travel west on the A66 to Keswick. Stay on A66 until you have by-passed Keswick where you will meet a roundabout. Take third exit from the roundabout onto A591 and then almost immediately right into a narrow lane signposted to Underscar. Proceed up the hill for about a mile, pass the gated driveway on your right (do not go up the driveway) and take the next sharp right hand turn (almost back on yourself). Follow this lane and take the next right turn into Underscar, Reception is on your right.
