Camping in Keswick the Lake District
Catering for families and couples only*. The campground is sheltered and has both sloping and level areas. Views are available of lakes and fells from some areas of the field but not all. Cars may be parked close to the tent depending on ground conditions. Sorry but no electric hook-up points are available for camping.
*We are able to accept Duke of Edinburgh with written confirmation from the school and staff present on site.
The Campers' Kitchen provides guests an indoor heated amenity in which to prepare meals. Equipped with Seating, washing up basins, twin hobs, microwave, (both 50p tokens) and free use of toasters and kettle. Ice pack freezing and Wifi are available at no charge.
Stay in a Camping Pod
A camping pod is a small timber hut with a wraparound roof, all very well insulated with sheep’s wool in the walls, and with a special foil layer under the tiles to help keep summer temperatures in check. There’s good head height and plenty of light from the double-glazed lockable french doors which, together with a small high rear window, provide a good through draft. Also provided is a electric socket, heater and lighting. All in all, it’s a brilliant substitute for a tent and weatherproof!
Our CastlePods sleep a maximum of two adults and two children, dogs are not permitted. They feature a double bed and a bunk-bed with mattresses but linen, blankets/duvets must be provided by the guest. There is a heater, two twin electric sockets with USB charging ports, lights, picnic bench and decking area.
Just think… you can have all the best bits of camping – experiencing the closeness to nature and the sense of adventure – but without the disadvantages. You can enjoy the great outdoors without the threat of being savaged by it ! Just bring all your camping equipment… but not your tent ! Please Note, no beds are fitted to ‘Standard’ and ‘Family’ and the use of campbeds or airbeds is recommended.
Location
Set in an elevated position overlooking Derwentwater with panoramic views of the surrounding fells. Ideal location for walking and only 1.5 miles from Keswick town centre.
