Visit Mirehouse this Summer
Mirehouse & Gardens - Bassenthwaite Lake
School’s out for summer
Its’s the summer holidays and the sun is bound to come out!. Bees, bumblebees and butterflies can be seen appreciating the shrubs and flowers specially chosen for them in the Bee Garden. The herb beds are coming into their season and the blossom in the apple orchard is beautiful at the moment. In the terraced gardens round the house, the roses are starting to bloom in abundance and the Poetry Walk invites a meander.
For the youngsters, the woodland playgrounds and family natures notes are always popular. There is plenty of space to burn off excess energy along the heather path maze in the Bee Garden, on the terraced lawns and skimming stones by Bassenthwaite Lake. Bring a picnic or lovely home made treats are available aplenty at the Old Sawmill Tearoom across the road!
