Lake District Hotels Third Annual Awards Ceremony
Lake District Hotels proudly hosted its third annual employee appreciation award on Tuesday 21st November
A new tradition that underscores the company's commitment to recognising and honouring the exceptional contributions of its dedicated workforce.
The event which is held annually, gathered over 40 invited attendees, providing an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding achievements of the Lake District Hotels team.
The 2023 awards not only recognised long-standing members of the staff, but also highlighted the accomplishments of those who achieved qualifications, including apprenticeship or degree completions.
The event commenced with a delightful drinks reception, followed by a festive afternoon tea and awards presentation.
Three distinct award categories were celebrated:
1.Long Service Award: This category paid tribute to individuals who have demonstrated unwavering commitment and dedication to Lake District Hotels group over the years. The awards honoured those who have consistently shown loyalty, hard work and extraordinary dedication to the company.
2.Internal Promotions: This category celebrated the remarkable talent and dedication of individuals who not only excelled in their roles, but also received well-deserved promotions from within the company. These awards highlighted Lake District Hotels' commitment to nurturing and promoting talent from within.
3.Significant Achievement in Hospitality Awards: Seven outstanding individuals were recognised for their dedication to furthering their knowledge and skills in the fast-paced hospitality industry. Their individual capabilities contribute to the continuous evolution of Lake District Hotels.
Among the individual honourees, Jodey Houston, Supervisor of Mizu pan-Asian Restaurant at the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa was awarded the ‘Employee of the Year’, showcasing her exemplary contributions.
“I am truly honoured and humbled to receive the ‘Employee of the Year’ award. This recognition means so much to me, and I want to express my sincere gratitude to my colleagues and superiors who saw something special in me!”
The group’s Purchase Ledger, Tricia Irving, who spends most of her time based at Head Office, received the ‘Going the Extra Mile’ award for her consistent efforts in getting the hotels ready for Christmas which she does in addition to her everyday role. Trish is responsible for all the hotels spectacular festive displays which she prepares throughout the year and spends over 2 weeks in November to put up.

Christmas is a magical time, and being entrusted with creating that enchantment for guests and colleagues brings me immense joy - it’s great to have been recognised for it.”
