West Cumbria Rivers Trust Invites Businesses To Free Film Screening For Great Big Green Week
West Cumbria Rivers Trust, in association with Sustainable Keswick, are delighted to host a screening of ‘Save Our Wild Isles Business Films’ as part of the Great Big Green Week celebrations (10 – 18 June) on Thu 15 June at 5pm at Keswick’s Alhambra cinema.
Inspired by These Wild Isles, the iconic BBC nature documentary series, WWF, the RSPB, the National Trust and Silverback Films came together to produce four films for businesses. They combine stunning wildlife footage with the voices of influential business leaders and experts including Deborah Meaden (Business Leader and Investor), Ken Murphy (Group Chief Executive, Tesco), Paul Polman (Business Leader, Campaign and Former CEO, Unilever) and Tony Juniper CBE (Chair, Natural England). The films explore how much nature has been lost in the UK, the actions employees and businesses can take to reduce their impact and the need to put nature at the heart of decision-making to become part of the solution to the crisis.
Three of the four films - ‘The Business of Nature’, ‘Hungry for Change’, and ‘Catch-22’ - will be screened followed by a panel discussion and Q&A.
West Cumbria Rivers Trust and Sustainable Keswick invite individuals, business leaders, influencers and advocates from businesses large and small from the local area to attend the screening and get the conversation going and help understand how we can all play our part in the solution to the nature crisis.
Whilst the event is free, colleagues are asked to book their tickets at https://www.keswickalhambra.co.uk/ to guarantee a seat. A voluntary donation of £5 towards the Trust’s work can be made when securing their seat.
Jodie Mills, WCRT’s Director said: “We’d like to invite everyone in the area to attend this event whether your business is large or small, no matter the sector and no matter your position – this is not just a conversation for our leaders. It’s incumbent on us all to get involved and become part of the solution. You may already have plans in place or be yet to start your journey, we hope that this event can act as a catalyst for change and a useful place for people to come together to ask questions, share ideas or raise issues they may be grappling with. We hope to see you there!”
