In March 2020 we were all asked to stay at home and Theatre By The Lake closed its doors. With no idea how long we might be ‘locked down’ for, last April TBTL asked the local community what lockdown meant to them and what were their hopes for the future. Over 150 people, from tiny tots to grans and granddads shared their paintings, sculpture and poetry.

These submissions have been used, with the help of creative freelancers, to design and install an exhibition in the gallery at the Theatre that will run from Thu 18 Mar – Mon 31 May.

As it became clear that the Theatre would be closed longer than anticipated, the project has been imaginatively digitised for audiences to experience at home 

New Shoots will remain on display at the Theatre for visitors to see when they are able to re-open.
