Adopt an Object at Keswick Museum
Keswick Museum is launching a scheme to Adopt an Object for Christmas 2020. Adopt an Object packages will be sold in the Museum shop and online, and customers will be able to choose one of a range of local objects to sponsor for a year. All proceeds will support the Museum to care for Keswick’s wonderful heritage.
Some of the objects that will be up for adoption are the Musical Stones, John Opie’s portrait of Robert Southey, and – of course – the Museum’s famous 700-year-old cat.
When you adopt an object you will receive:
- A card featuring images of the Museum’s collections
- A certificate featuring the name of the adopter and a picture of the chosen object
- A ticket to visit the Museum which is valid for 12 months
Adoption prices range from £15 to £150, depending on the object, and adoption packs are available now. They make a great gift for the history-lovers in your life.
The Museum is temporarily closed following government guidelines. People wishing to adopt an object can visit the museum’s website. Alternatively, please call (017687) 73263 and leave a message with your name, contact number and request, and a member of staff will get back to you.
