From Keswick: Take the A66 west towards Cockermouth. At Braithwaite turn west onto the B5292 for Lorton. Follow Visitor Centre Sign Posts.

Join our rangers and see what lies beneath the Whinlatter pond!

It is amazing to discover the amount and variety of wild life we have in the ponds here at Whinlatter.

At our pond dipping event we'll provide you with all the equipment you need to dip away and help you identify the creatures you discover. Perhaps you'll see newts, beetles or baby dragon flies!

Pond dipping is great fun and this is a great way to experience the wonders of the ponds with the help of our friendly knowledgeable rangers.

Essential Information

• £6 per child, booking essential
• 10% discount for Forestry England members
• Suitable for children aged 7+
• Children to be accompanied by an adult
• Please note no dogs are permitted at this event.
