Threlkeld is located off the A66 in Cumbria, 4 miles west of Keswick and 13 miles east of Penrith. From Penrith, junction 40 on the M6, follow signs to Keswick and after 13 miles turn right into Threlkeld Village. Do not follow your Sat Nav after this point - the Village Hall is located 0.5 mile along on the left hand side. From Keswick follow signs to Penrith and after 4 miles take the first left signposted Threlkeld. The Village Hall is 0.5 mile along on the right hand side.

Ally Harron and Marian Curry are a duo who perform Irish and Country music and have been touring with their music since getting together back in 1997. They grew up in the countryside of Co. Fermanagh in the 1960’s, in a time when there was music sessions in the family home, whether it be traditional Irish music or Country music, with local musicians getting together, exchanging tunes, stories and songs. 

Ally was hooked on the music of George Jones,  Merle Haggard, Lefty Frizzel etc, and when he saved enough money for his first guitar at the cost of £4 it wasn't long before he conquered the art of lead guitar,  and was soon on the road with a local band who made quite an impact on the country music scene that was taking the pubs and dance halls by storm, singing songs that were popular at the time and has since stood the test of time. 

Marian was brought up in a house filled with traditional Irish music  with her dad Patrick Curry playing button keyed accordion with the local Starlight Ceilidh band. Needless to say this love has remained embedded in her heart and you will hear some of the Irish songs in their program today. Over the years together Ally and Marian have released six cds and four videos, all featuring songs they include in their stage performance. Ally and Marian are a self contained duo, with Marian on keyboard, harmonica and vocals and Ally playing lead guitar and mandolin. You will always be assured of a warm welcome at a Ally and Marian concert. They are playing at Threlkeld Village Hall on Friday 7th June at 8pm.  Bar and Box Office from 7:15pm.
