Direction

From Keswick: Take the A66 west towards Cockermouth. At Braithwaite turn west onto the B5292 for Lorton. Follow Visitor Centre Sign Posts.

Join our experienced, knowledgeable Ranger as they lead you around our amazing WOW Trail!

The Wow trail is a 4.5-mile walking trail showcasing the wonders of Whinlatter, England's only true mountain forest.

Be prepared to enjoy fantastic views, stunning surroundings plus wildlife spotting in our  woodland wildlife hide - what will you see? You'll also take time to pause, reflect, and reset in our wellbeing area, a beacon of peace deep within the forest before discovering one of the best views in the Lake District at our viewpoint!

This walk will have a foods of the forest theme with our Ranger helping you to spot what forest food you can eat and foods you should not along the way. 

The guided walk start at 11am and last approximately three hours. If you’d like to join us, make sure to book you place with our friendly team in the Visitor Centre. Spaces are limited. Wear clothes suitable for walking and the weather. Sorry no dogs
