Brackenrigg Barn Cottages are perfect for a holiday in the Lake District. Three lovely cottages in a 19th century converted barn all set within acres of idyllic grounds with paddock, meadow, woodland and gardens and stunning views to Helvellyn and the Dodds range of fells.

The Sett cottage is the largest, and has 2 bedrooms, sleeping 4. One double, and one twin. Open plan living, dinng and kitchen area. Kitchen with hob/oven, microwave, fridgefreezer, slow cooker. Living area with TV, 2 x sofas for comfortable lounging. Large barn style flooor to ceiling windows looking west up the fell side, where you can hopefully spot red squirrels and deer

Bleaberry & Brocklebeck are open plan studio-style cottages for 2. Each with double bed, fully equipped kitchen area, living area with sofas. tub charis and TV. Ensuite bathrooms with shower over the bath. Well equipped, cosy, comfortable and charming for two people. Brocklebeck has an arched barn0style window overlooking the views. 

Brackenrigg Barn Cottages are situated in a prime location in the stunning Naddle Valley, less than 3 miles from Keswick and 10 mins from Grasmere. A rural & quiet place where you can walk the fells and valleys from the door

There are plenty of gardens and grounds around both Brackenrigg Barn Cottages, so plenty of space for children, for finding a quiet spot, or just watching the wildlife...there are badgers, foxes, red deer, a hare, and many red squirrels visiting the gardens and woods regularly, and lots of song birds, and the occasional bird of prey - kestrels, sparrowhawks and buzzards, as well as tawny and barn owls. In the summer you might see house martin's nesting. and in the evening, you might spot the occasional bat too! Open skies mean the stars are stunning, with little light pollution, except from our own outside lights! 

Location

In the very heart of the Lake District, with superb views of the Helvellyn range and Blenacathra, about 3 miles from the delightful market town of Keswick-on-Derwentwater, and a 10 minute drive from Grasmere. The magical ancient stone circle at Castlerigg is about 1.5 miles away, and Thirlmere Lake just a 3 mile walk or cycle. All areas of the National Park are easily accessible from this central location.

We have 4 cottages at our beautiful small country estate just 2 miles from Keswick with views of helvellyn and blencathra. three cottages in our converted 18thC barn for 2 and 4.

Beautiful barn converted cottages set in grounds including woodland and our meadow, which we are re-wilding with a new pond and 3500 young native trees, designed to encourage wildlife, including badgers, foxes, red squirrels and many song birds. Ball play paddock, walking form the door, pet friendly cottages converted from our 19th century bank barn. (A bank barn is a traditional style built into the fell side to allow level access to the upper story)

Bleaberry & Brocklebeck cottages are our 2 ground floor, studio style open plan cottages for 1-2. Cosy & comfortable, these popular cottages are a great base to explore the area. Fully equipped kitchen, dining area, king sized bed, bathroom with shower over the bath.


The Sett cottage is our largest cottage and has 2 bedroom, now twin, one double, comfortable and spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen area, central heating throughout. Views to helvellyn. Keswick - just a 5 minute drive way, and a 12 mins to Grasmere - this is an ideal spot to reach all area in the national park with ease, Plenty of walking from the door in the Naddle and St Johns in the Vale valleys, High Rigg, Raven Crag and many other nearby fells. Ample parking.
